Na twintig jaar in de televisiewereld ben ik teruggekeerd naar de regio waar ik als student woonde. Ik werk nu als verbindingsmakelaar voor gemeenten en organisaties, en als tenniscoach voor spelers die hun spel van binnenuit willen ontwikkelen. After twenty years in television I returned to the region where I lived as a student. I now work as a neighbourhood connector for municipalities and organisations, and as a tennis coach for players who want to develop their game from within.

Mijn aanpak rust op drie pijlers. Voetenwerk als technische basis, want alles begint daar. Mentaal coachen: spelers leren vertrouwen op wat er al in ze zit, zonder de innerlijke criticus die dat vertrouwen ondermijnt. En videofeedback, zodat ze zien wat ze voelen. My approach rests on three pillars. Footwork as the technical foundation, because everything starts there. Mental coaching: players learn to trust what is already in them, without the inner critic that undermines that trust. And video feedback, so they can see what they feel.

Ik heb jarenlang jeugd gecoacht en ben meegeweest met talentvolle teams tijdens competitiedagen. Vanuit mijn achtergrond in media weet ik hoe je beelden leesbaar maakt voor een jonge speler. I have coached youth for years and accompanied talented teams during competition days. From my background in media I know how to make images readable for a young player.

Ik werk met spelers van alle leeftijden en niveaus. Ook beschikbaar voor clubs en verenigingen in de Leidse regio die op zoek zijn naar een coach met een eigen aanpak. Jarenlang werkte ik bij DWDD, daarna als leidinggevende productieleider bij Pauw & Witteman en PAUW. Via de commerciële wereld keerde ik terug als hoofd productie bij Omroep HUMAN, waar ik de eerste stap maakte naar maatschappelijke thema's. For years I worked at DWDD, then as production manager at Pauw & Witteman and PAUW. Via the commercial world I returned as head of production at Omroep HUMAN, where I took my first steps toward social themes.

Wat ik in al die jaren leerde: hoe je complexe mensen en belangen bij elkaar brengt, hoe je iets van de grond tilt dat er nog niet is, en hoe je een omgeving creëert waarin anderen tot hun beste werk komen. Die vaardigheid verandert niet als de camera uitgaat. Wat verandert is de schaal. Mijn interesses zijn nu mijn werk. What I learned in all those years: how to bring complex people and interests together, how to get something off the ground that doesn't exist yet, and how to create an environment in which others do their best work. That skill doesn't change when the camera goes off. What changes is the scale. My interests are now my work.

Als onafhankelijke heb ik de vrijheid om snel te schakelen en dingen van de grond te tillen die anders blijven liggen. Twenty years of experience connecting people and interests, commercial instinct from the business world, and a genuine connection to a region I know and choose. As an independent I have the freedom to move fast and get things off the ground that would otherwise stay stuck.

In de televisie leerde ik dat mensen pas bewegen als ze zich gezien voelen. Dat geldt in een studio. En op straat. En op een tennisveld. In television I learned that people only move when they feel seen. That is true in a studio. On the street. And on a tennis court.
